April 26<sup>th<\/sup> 1980 was the incorporation of our club<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/IMG_5376-invite.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5190 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/IMG_5376-invite-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/IMG_5376-invite-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/IMG_5376-invite.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> .\u00a0 The friendship weekend was organised to celebrate 45 years since our charter. It is also the 80<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of liberation this year, so the weekend was a joint celebration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The weekend started with a social event at the new premises at \u00a0GROW ( Guernsey Rural\u00a0 Occupational Workshop) . \u00a0Sue has chosen GROW as one of her charities and the manager\u00a0 talked to us about how the new premises came about and how they have expanded from growing into woodwork, and catering \u00a0and showed us slides of the Crew in action.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122107000_iOS.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5192 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122107000_iOS-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122107000_iOS-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122107000_iOS.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 232px) 100vw, 232px\" \/><\/a>We then went outside to meet some dogs from PAWS for support. These dogs are trained to work in different environments. The dogs and their owners may go into places such as school,\u00a0 hospitals and care homes, or could be utilized to go into a persons home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122108000_iOS.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5193 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122108000_iOS-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122108000_iOS-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122108000_iOS.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After this we were treated to a lovely buffet put on by members. This allowed us to socialise with our guests from SI Kernow, SI Stockport, SI Winchester and our regional president Daphne from SI Tiverton.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday we started with a guided walk around St Peter Port. Gill Girard shared some of her knowledge of St Peter Port and the Occupation and Liberation of Guernsey with locals\u00a0 and visitors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122318000_iOS-1-Copy-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5197\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122318000_iOS-1-Copy-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122318000_iOS-1-Copy-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122318000_iOS-1-Copy-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>\u00a0 <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122318000_iOS-Copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5194\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122318000_iOS-Copy-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122318000_iOS-Copy-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250426_122318000_iOS-Copy.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Saturday evening saw us assemble at Les Cotils where we were joined members from SI Jersey and SI Preston in addition to the clubs already mentioned.\u00a0 Past presidents were also in attendance, so it was lovely to see some of our previous members and forge new friendships with visiting clubs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250427_102027000_iOS-Copy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5198\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250427_102027000_iOS-Copy-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250427_102027000_iOS-Copy-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/guernsey\/files\/2025\/04\/20250427_102027000_iOS-Copy.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 449px) 100vw, 449px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sunday was a beautifully sunny day and the friendship weekend finished with an afternoon tea at Les Cotils.
