Soroptimists of Harrogate and District were enthralled by Anne Cherry\u2019s talk on the History of Harrogate Theatre.<\/p>\n

Anne had a wealth of historical information dating back to the days in 1900 when the theatre first opened.<\/p>\n

Anne has been actively involved with the theatre for the last 18 years, first by taking her daughter to the various pantomime rehearsals to being the Chair of the Harrogate Theatre Supporters. Her close involvement prompted her deep interest in all aspects of the theatre and for the last seven years she has been their ambassador and given many talks to varying groups of people.<\/p>\n

Her love of the theatre was evident as she shared with us some of the facts and photographs she has unearthed during the many hours she has spent researching the Theatre\u2019s history. It was a fascinating talk and a wonderful evening.<\/p>\n

Our lecture wasn\u2019t complete until she told us about the Ghost of Harrogate Theatre fondly called Alice. Who is she, was the question we were all left wondering.<\/p>\n

Our members were kindly invited to take an hour\u2019s tour of the theatre to witness the many amazing aspects of the theatre which Anne had told us about. Jonquil Claughan and Anne were our excellent guides around the theatre.\u00a0Whilst we all were looking out for Alice, needless to say no one has actually shared that she was seen!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
