A little drop of rain!<\/h3>\n

The inclement British summer \u00a0certainly impacted \u00a0on many \u00a0planned outdoor events. Club member Audrey’s ‘Garden Party’ ended up ‘Indoors’ when the rain came down. So, 15 Soroptimists and 2 Soroptimisters \u00a0had to squeeze into Audrey’s lounge. It was very sociable, and everyone took it in good humour and there was plenty of laughter. And, the grand sum of \u00a3250 raised for local food banks.<\/p>\n

\"Group<\/a>Fantastic array of Food<\/h3>\n

A fine selection of quiches, tuna, smoked salmon and salads and berries and cream with a Pimms cup and tea and coffee and small cakes provided an excellent lunch. Audrey’s great niece, Jennie, who loves baking, made cheese and sweet scones, quiche, and small cupcakes. Sue W, Lynne and Jan \u00a0gave wonderful help in preparing and setting everything up. And Audrey’s \u00a0lovely neighbour suddenly appeared with a delicious Pavlova which is in the photograph.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Club Project – \u00a0Supporting Local Food Banks<\/h3>\n

The Club’s new project starting in September will be to support the local Food Banks, Trussell Trust<\/a> and Resurrected Bites.<\/a> \u00a0This will be part of a two year commitment and builds on what we are already doing to #StopFoodPoverty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
