\"\"<\/a>Harrogate & District Soroptimists raised a further \u00a3421.25 at their latest Meru Women’s Garden Project<\/a> fundraising evening supporting women and children in Kenya to start their own market gardens, thereby empowering\u00a0 the women to feed their families, create security and aid financial independence .<\/p>\n

In total Harrogate and District Soroptimists have now raised over \u00a33000 since they started the project at the Autumn Flower Show in 2016 when they gained a Silver medal for their innovative garden.<\/p>\n

Belebele an African Drumming and Singing group really set the mood before an excellent African supper after which Di Flemming and Jen Berry had everyone on their\u00a0 feet singing a couple of Kenyan songs ably translated by Eunice Kwallah a guest from Kenya .<\/p>\n

A total of over \u00a3110000 has been raised across Soroptimist Clubs in Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) Federation. The money is already making a difference. \u00a0SIGBI is working in partnership a \u00a0Community Initiative for Rural Development<\/a> (CIFORD) in Kenya and \u00a0child.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
