The club has long connections with all three charities. The guests gave a brief update on their projects.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Young-Carers-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5293 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Young-Carers-1-300x239.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"241\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Young-Carers-1-300x239.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Young-Carers-1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 241px) 100vw, 241px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jackie from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnardos.org.uk\/get-support\/services\/action-young-carers-wirral\">Barnardo\u2019s Action With Young Carers Wirral<\/a> outlined the support for young carers and in particular the benefit for them from the social events funded by the club.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Bees-for-Development.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5294 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Bees-for-Development-196x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"196\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Bees-for-Development-196x300.jpg 196w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Bees-for-Development.jpg 668w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 196px) 100vw, 196px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.beesfordevelopment.org\">Bees for Development<\/a>\u2019s Bob Spencer spoke of the charity\u2019s growth over its 30 years of working in the development field. The charity works globally in its approach to making life better with bees by encouraging sustainable beekeeping to overcome poverty, build livelihoods and benefit biodiversity. Branches of Bees for Development have been established in Ethiopia, Ghana and Uganda. Successful training programmes in these areas are running in conjunction with local agencies and partners.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Marys-Meals-e1713555974491.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5292 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Marys-Meals-e1713555974491-295x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Marys-Meals-e1713555974491-295x300.jpg 295w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/heswall-and-district\/files\/2024\/04\/Marys-Meals-e1713555974491.jpg 709w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 251px) 100vw, 251px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sue Donovan, a club member and ambassador for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beesfordevelopment.org\">Mary\u2019s Meals,<\/a> brought the group up to date with news of how the charity has responded since the restrictions imposed by the Covid pandemic. The charity\u2019s initial remit was to deliver food for children at places of education. Sadly the later help of sending filled backpacks from the UK has been discontinued.
