Once again I have been given the opportunity to represent our club SI Inverness and Nairn.
As a group we have been focusing on the sustainable development goals. Our work within the community has included raising awareness of issues that affect women and children locally and on national/global level to improve the lives of women and girls. I believe to make the world a better place, women need to be empowered. To assist in this my chosen charity for this year is Inverness Women’s Aid.
Women’s Aid is an organisation working towards the prevention of domestic abuse; this charity raises awareness, researches and gathers data that may impact positively on domestic abuse policy makers. The main ethos of this organisation is to minimize domestic abuse within the home environment, being active in coping mechanisms and ensuring provision is in place when times become what may seem like impossible to cope with.
I look enthusiastically forward to the up and coming year as to what our group can achieve through active team working.
