Along with most organisations that meet regularly, we are now having our Club meetings via Zoom.
Our next meeting is this Wednesday 13th January 2021 when we will catch up socially, address some business and look to the future as to projects that will broaden our horizons and make the lives of women and girls in our location, across the UK and the Globe safer and enable them to fulfill their potential.
For our December meeting we had a Zoom Gin Tasting session, just amazing how many different varieties/brands we had between us and individually – what does that say about us (we like to enjoy ourselves!). There were some good stories behind why certain gins were in our drinks cupboards at home. A great way to start Christmas celebrations – as it turned out, probably better than Christmas! Members clubbed together to pay for presents for the children in the local Refuge.
On 28th November 2020 the London Anglia Region, of which SI Ipswich is one of 10 Clubs in the area that meet a few times a year, we had a virtual meeting when our speaker was the Victims’ Commissioner Dame Vera Baird who told us about her role, giving insight into research findings from talking to victims of various different types of crime and the challenges she has identified and is determined to meet. To find out more see our post on this website about this important talk.
