SI Ipswich Nominated for an Award

Rendlesham School having fun and getting involved with

Well, didn’t we do well!

Two of the Club’s members joined over 1,200 members from 29 countries at our Federation’s  Annual Conference at The Sage in Gateshead 31st October to 1st November 2013.

Conferences are always special, but what was even more special was that the Club was nominated for an award for our BeePlus Education Project (an education project for 7 to 9 year olds to introduce them to the plight of the honeybee and what small things they can do to help) under ‘Environmental Sustainability’.  Unfortunately, we were pipped at the post by a project about creating awareness about organic farming.  From projects carried out by over 350 clubs in 29 countries to be nominated is no mean feat.

We may not have won (although we did last year for our work with Lighthouse and the publication of ‘Every Six Seconds), but it gave us a sense that our projects mean a lot and can make just that  difference.
