Barbara was nominated for her work as a family lawyer, particularly for her recent work on the changes in the divorce laws and for the free time she gives to families who need legal aid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">24 nominations were received this year, which is a new record. This award was established by SIJ in 1999 to champion the many women in our Island who give so much to others.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/jersey\/files\/2026\/06\/IWA_2026_4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5244 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/jersey\/files\/2026\/06\/IWA_2026_4-300x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/jersey\/files\/2026\/06\/IWA_2026_4-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/jersey\/files\/2026\/06\/IWA_2026_4.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Congratulations\u00a0 to finalists Danielle Mynes (left) and Magda Chmielewska (right). Danielle was nominated for her work as a teacher and ongoing efforts with girls to end gender-based\u00a0 violence.
