Christmas with a difference!<\/h1>\n

Who would have thought it back in March that we would be so familiar with Zoom, tiers and social distancing?\u00a0 \u00a0This year has not been how we ever imagined life would be.\u00a0 \u00a0Birthdays this year have taken on a new meaning as when ever we sing ‘Happy Birthday’ now we all think about washing our hands!\u00a0 \u00a0And Christmas is certainly going to be very different for us all.<\/p>\n

However, as ever, Club members have responded in their usual positive fashion.\u00a0 \u00a0Thinking of each other, and those women less fortunate as always.<\/p>\n

Christmas greetings<\/h2>\n

\"Card<\/a>Thanks to Marion, President Gill has sent out a lovely e-card to our sister Soroptimists in Midland Arden Region.<\/p>\n

‘We at Soroptimist International Kenilworth and District hope that you will enjoy a peaceful Christmas and a healthy New Year with increasing optimism for the future.\u00a0 Kindest regards from President Gill and all club members.”<\/p>\n

It’s also been sent to the Kenilworth ‘Chain Gang’ e.g. Town Mayor Richard Dickson<\/em><\/a>, Presidents of Lions, Rotary, and the WI.<\/p>\n

We’ve also sent it to our Friendship Links and had some lovely messages back.\u00a0 \u00a0It’s great that despite Covid, our friendships are still just as strong.<\/p>\n

Kenilworth Christmas Tree festival<\/h2>\n

As with so many things, this tradition at St Nicholas Church has been adapted to an outside event.\u00a0 \u00a0The theme this year was ‘Plastic Free Kenilworth’.\u00a0 \u00a0A theme we embraced whole heartedly!\u00a0 \u00a0It fits in so well with our link to the UN and the Sustainable Goals<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

With artistic direction from Julie P and Rachel, who also managed all the creative bits.\u00a0 \u00a0Willow weaving by Sharon, installation by Soroptimister Dave, and props added by Andrea and Elaine.\u00a0 \u00a0It was truly a team effort and one that has been much admired by passers by.\u00a0 \u00a0The best bit about it is that we can use the decorations again!\u00a0 \u00a0So proud of all the pledges<\/em><\/a> we discussed back in July.<\/p>\n
