Or at least a replica to grace your Platinum Jubilee Party.\u00a0 \u00a0Then you put Ann P and her team in charge of platinum standard catering, complete with the new Jubilee desert.<\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5609 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/06\/IMG_3596-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"Lifesize cardboard image of Queen Elizabeth II\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/06\/IMG_3596-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/06\/IMG_3596-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the efforts of the Social events group, we had a fabulous garden party where the chat and laughter flowed in equal measure.\u00a0 \u00a0Covid has certainly changed our attitudes.\u00a0 \u00a0We&#8217;re a lot hardier about gathering outdoors!\u00a0 \u00a0Despite a rather chilly Sunday we simply put our jackets on and thoroughly enjoyed each others company.\u00a0 \u00a0Not sure how many of us had sampled the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/food\/collections\/platinum_jubilee_recipes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Jubilee Trifle<\/strong><\/em><\/a> but it judging from the empty plates it was definitely a winner with all of our Club members and their partners.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5621\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/06\/IMG-4312-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"woman adding bits to Jubilee trifle\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/06\/IMG-4312-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/06\/IMG-4312.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/06\/jemmas-lemon-swiss-roll-amarettii-trifle.pdf\">jemmas-lemon-swiss-roll-amarettii-trifle<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0Ann and team used this recipe but admitted to using ready made amoretti biscuits, jelly and lemon curd!\u00a0 \u00a0Frankly some of us might be more inclined to buy the swiss rolls and custard too!!!\u00a0 Inviting 20 people to share it is probably the least bit of the recipe as Soroptimists are always up for some pud!<\/p>\n<h2>But its not just about us &#8211;<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5531 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/03\/heart-gfee051e8c_1280-300x273.png\" alt=\"Heart in Ukrainian colours\" width=\"300\" height=\"273\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/03\/heart-gfee051e8c_1280-300x273.png 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/03\/heart-gfee051e8c_1280.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Although we had a wonderful time, Club members are still mindful of the ongoing situation in Ukraine.\u00a0 \u00a0We are keen to continue to support our Soroptimist <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/2022\/03\/31\/marching-on-celebrating-our-support-for-women-and-children\/\"><em><strong>Sisters<\/strong><\/em> in Krakow<\/a> help women and children fleeing the conflict.\u00a0 \u00a0We also want to support<em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/2020\/01\/27\/making-a-difference-to-the-lives-of-children-in-malawi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0Friends of Sick Children in Malawi<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, an international charities we have had a long association with.\u00a0 \u00a0To help with this, we paid a little extra for our afternoon tea, swapped and bought books, and had a hilarious time with the raffle.\u00a0 \u00a0All overseen of course by Her Majesty.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_images_carousel images=&#8221;5609,5618,5617,5616,5615,5614,5613,5619,5620,5629,5627,5626,5625,5624,5623,5622,5621&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; onclick=&#8221;link_no&#8221; speed=&#8221;3000&#8243; slides_per_view=&#8221;3&#8243; autoplay=&#8221;yes&#8221; partial_view=&#8221;yes&#8221; wrap=&#8221;yes&#8221; title=&#8221;Platinum Jubilee Garden Party&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] Well the first thing you do is invite the Queen!!!
