with an evening of mirth, mulled wine and mince pies.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5873\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/DSCF7262-1-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/DSCF7262-1-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/DSCF7262-1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/h2>\n<p>We did have an entry requirement of course!\u00a0 \u00a0Admittance could only be by wearing something sparkly &#8211;\u00a0 including partners.\u00a0 \u00a0A few bubbles of Prosecco, plenty of delicious cake kindly donated by Jean and a hilarious poem written by our very own Carole J ensured that we had a wonderful sociable time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>By celebrating our International links.\u00a0 \u00a0Because we buy second hand books at Club meetings, we&#8217;re continuing to raise money for Friends of Sick Children in Malawi.\u00a0 \u00a0This year we bought a wheelchair and four corner chairs.\u00a0 \u00a0Club members have also bought these too.<\/h2>\n<p>Made by the elves in Blantyre, Malawi, these are specifically made for each child.\u00a0 \u00a0Although they look rather unsophisticated compared to UK equipment, they work for the conditions in Malawi.\u00a0 \u00a0They are<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/2015\/09\/18\/september-2015-little-jack-horner%e2%80%8f\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><em> truly life changing<\/em><\/span><\/a> for each child and their family.\u00a0 \u00a0If you&#8217;re interested in finding out more about just how great these are, check out the <span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><em><a style=\"color: #3366ff\" href=\"http:\/\/www.friendsofsickchildreninmalawi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Friends of Sick Children in Malawi<\/a><\/em><\/span> website.\u00a0 \u00a0They make great gifts at anytime of year.<\/p>\n<h2>By celebrating our Friendship links<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5863\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/Christmas-card-for-Malawi-2022-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/Christmas-card-for-Malawi-2022-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/Christmas-card-for-Malawi-2022-1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/h2>\n<p>We regularly have Zoom sessions with SI Arnhem Oost and Remscheid.\u00a0 \u00a0This year we had the chance to use the technology gained during Covid and chat in small groups.\u00a0 \u00a0It&#8217;s such a pleasure to meet our Sisters this way and hear about what they are doing.\u00a0 \u00a0And marvellous Marion created a beautiful card for us to send to SI Blantyre in Malawi.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>By using our local links.\u00a0 \u00a0Working with Compassionate Kenilworth, <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5861 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/PHOTO-2022-12-12-15-20-40-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/PHOTO-2022-12-12-15-20-40-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/PHOTO-2022-12-12-15-20-40.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>we can respond to a request for presents.<\/h2>\n<p>Thanks to the generosity of Kenilworth Lions and Club members we&#8217;ve collected a whole host of gifts for Christmas.\u00a0 \u00a0These will be sent to women and children currently being housed in a local migrant centre.\u00a0 \u00a0The small items for children aged 4-14 years should hopefully bring a smile to them and their mums.\u00a0 \u00a0We can&#8217;t give anything too large as they don&#8217;t have any storage space.\u00a0 \u00a0Plus, they should be moving onto more suitable housing in the near future.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5864 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/20221215_180317-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/20221215_180317-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kenilworth-and-district\/files\/2022\/12\/20221215_180317-1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_images_carousel images=&#8221;5873,5872,5871,5870,5869,5868,5867,5866,5865&#8243;
