The Thought of an End to Violence Against Women and Girls<\/h3>\n

With the colour orange representing hope for a violence-free future for women and girls, preparations began for an Orange Cafe to launch our 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.<\/h4>\n

\"\"\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/a>\"\"\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0 And at our local community cafe, what a launch it was!<\/a><\/p>\n

Co-President Amanda was delighted to welcome local councillors, representatives from fellow voluntary agencies and from Warwickshire Refuge Services.<\/h5>\n

\"\"\u00a0 Amanda with Cllr Andrew Milton and Club member Debra.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"Andrew was proud to wear our orange and white campaign ribbon, which symbolises the link between the aims of Soroptimists and the White Ribbon Organisation in eliminating violence against women and girls.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\"\"\u00a0And Andrew’s\u00a0daughter Hollie spotted a leaflet with her name on it!<\/a><\/p>\n

This leaflet provides information about the “Hollie Guard” app for smartphones. The app enables a user’s phone to become a “personal safety device”.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Cllr Alison Insley was running a hectic schedule but still found time to come along and support us.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"It’s always great to see friends from Kenilworth Lions. Our two organisations often share strategies and actions to support survivors of violence against women and girls. On the left is Lion President Elect Bill Wanley, and on the right, Vice President Lis Stevens.<\/a><\/p>\n

We were delighted to welcome Mandy, a representative from a fellow women’s organisation, the Kenilworth Women’s Institute. \u00a0\"\"It was a great opportunity to share ideas on the ways each of our organisations is working to eliminate violence against women and girls.<\/a><\/p>\n


\nWe count Kaylee and Melanie, strategists and managers at Warwickshire Refuge Services, as our very good friends.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n<\/a>Kaylee was keen to wear one of our orange and white ribbons.
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

In fact she took 3 more for her team to wear at their forthcoming meeting with the Police and Crime Commissioner!<\/a><\/p>\n
