The first event was SIGBI\u2019s Annual Conference, being held in Friend\u2019s House in London this year. The speakers were so inspirational that we left feeling ready to work for women and girls throughout the U.K and beyond.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kidderminster-and-district\/files\/2024\/01\/398684607_6838987069480352_2025499211235967186_n-conference.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4900\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kidderminster-and-district\/files\/2024\/01\/398684607_6838987069480352_2025499211235967186_n-conference-300x219.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kidderminster-and-district\/files\/2024\/01\/398684607_6838987069480352_2025499211235967186_n-conference-300x219.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kidderminster-and-district\/files\/2024\/01\/398684607_6838987069480352_2025499211235967186_n-conference.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At our supper meeting this month, we were privileged to have two speakers from Kidderminster\u2019s two women\u2019s refuges. They told us of the difficulties facing the women of today. We gave them donations for speaking to us at our meeting, and money towards their Christmas meal for all the women in their care.\u00a0 We also gave them \u00a3200 from Hartlebury Community Caf\u00e9, which one of our members runs.<\/p>\n<p>Some members attended our neighbouring club S.I Stourbridge\u2019s Literary dinner where, one of our members Sue Merrill, was one of the speakers for the evening.\u00a0 She did us proud with an amusing talk about her latest book, Police,\u00a0 Ponies and Husbands in Between.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kidderminster-and-district\/files\/2024\/01\/316129364_5872860322766118_4717117928214797323_n-sue-radio.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4899 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kidderminster-and-district\/files\/2024\/01\/316129364_5872860322766118_4717117928214797323_n-sue-radio-300x231.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kidderminster-and-district\/files\/2024\/01\/316129364_5872860322766118_4717117928214797323_n-sue-radio-300x231.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/kidderminster-and-district\/files\/2024\/01\/316129364_5872860322766118_4717117928214797323_n-sue-radio.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our member Cindy Black, again held her charity lunches at Lord Morton\u2019s Restaurant in Mustow Green.\u00a0 She has raised thousands of pounds over several years for local charities.<\/p>\n<p>Soroptimist International organises 16 days of Activism this month from 25<sup>th<\/sup> November to 10<sup>th<\/sup> December to highlight Violence against women.
