King\u2019s Lynn Soroptimists and their guests were delighted to welcome guest author Sophia Bennett (writing as S J Bennett) who has created a much-acclaimed series \u2018Her Majesty the Queen Investigates\u2019 to their annual literary lunch on Sunday 16th<\/sup> November.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The series features the late Queen Elizabeth II as an inspired yet discreet solver of crimes.<\/p>\n

Having wanted to be a writer from a young age, Sophia explained about her transition from writing children\u2019s books to murder mysteries. The idea of the Queen as a crime solver took hold and resulted in much research into the royal residences and the daily life of the Queen \u2013 weaving the fictional content into the monarch\u2019s busy schedule.<\/p>\n

Windsor, Buckingham Palace and Sandringham House respectively provide the settings for the first 3 books of the series \u2013 the first \u2018The Windsor Knot\u2019 was written in 2019 and this resulted in a multi-book deal in the UK followed by multiple deals around the world. These 3 books represented the Queen at the age of 90 but he next 2 books in the series are based on a young Queen Elizabeth in the early days of her reign, the latest release being \u2018The Queen Who Came in from the Cold\u2019. Sophia has a loyal reader following with whom she keeps in touch via a regular newsletter.<\/p>\n

The event was a great success with 46 attending and included an excellent lunch. Over \u00a3350 was raised for the clubs 2025\/26 charity Home-Start Norfolk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
