About Kingston Upon Thames Club

The club welcomes all women from the boroughs of Kingston Upon Thames, Richmond, Hounslow, Merton and surrounding areas, who are interested in promoting and improving the lives of women and girls.

We are women with a social conscience who want to make a difference by giving service, sharing friendship and having fun. Soroptimist International is the world’s largest women’s service organisation with Consultative Status at the United Nations.

We work internationally, supporting the lobbying and advocacy work at the United Nations on behalf of women and girls as well as fundraising for specific projects which support women and girls.

Kingston Upon Thames and District was chartered in 1944 and our members, who come from diverse business and professional backgrounds, have given many years of service to a variety of projects both local and international.

We work regionally in cooperation with 12 other Soroptimist clubs across Southern England and nationally across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. Our work within a United Kingdom framework are on behalf of women and girls.
