The Soroptimist International vision is that women and girls will achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Soroptimists transform the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Goals<\/h2>\n

Soroptimists will ensure that women and\u00a0girls:<\/p>\n

  • Enjoy equity and\u00a0equality<\/li>\n
  • Live in safe and healthy\u00a0environments<\/li>\n
  • Have access to\u00a0education<\/li>\n
  • Have leadership and practical\u00a0skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Objectives<\/h2>\n

    1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eliminate poverty and gender discrimination through ensuring women’s full social and economic rights<\/p>\n

    2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 End human trafficking and all forms of violence against women and girls<\/p>\n

    3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure access to health care for women and girls<\/p>\n

    4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Support programmes and policies that would eliminate HIV\/AIDS, malaria, TB and other major diseases<\/p>\n

    5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Improve access to clean water, sanitation and essential food resources<\/p>\n

    6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mitigate the effects of climate change and integrate sustainability into personal choices and governmental policies and programmes<\/p>\n

    7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Meet the needs of women and girls during and after armed conflicts, man-made and natural disasters<\/p>\n

    8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Promote peaceful processes for conflict resolution through encouragement of intercultural and inter-racial tolerance and condemnation of all forms of\u00a0genocide\u00a0and terrorism<\/p>\n

    9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ensure equal access to education and training throughout their lifespan<\/p>\n
