First Vice President\u2019s Badge<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=””][vc_single_image image=”203″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=””][vc_column_text]This badge is unique.\u00a0 It was presented to the Leigh Club in 1973<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

by Mrs. Hazel Krauss, a member of our Sister Club of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

She was the personal correspondent of one of Leigh Club\u2019s Founder Members, Miss Kathleen McDonnell, for a number of years and after Kathleen\u2019s death, Hazel sent the badge to\u00a0<\/em>us in memory of her, with the request that it be worn by each successive First Vice President.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The badge itself is a plain disc about\u00a0 one and half inches in diameter, in American gold, with the normal Soroptimist badge superimposed in the centre.\u00a0 Attached to one side of the gold base is a tiny gavel, also in gold, set with a small diamond.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Officers of the Quakertown Club wear their badges with a gavel attached by a chain and the position of the gavel in relation to the badge is varied to indicate the office held by the wearer.<\/em><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
