{"id":1099,"date":"2013-04-22T07:44:26","date_gmt":"2013-04-22T06:44:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/?p=1099"},"modified":"2020-07-31T13:53:07","modified_gmt":"2020-07-31T12:53:07","slug":"new-president-starts-her-year-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/2013\/04\/22\/new-president-starts-her-year-2\/","title":{"rendered":"New President starts her Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_1100\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1100\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2013\/04\/Donna-President1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1100\" src=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2013\/04\/Donna-President1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1100\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chris hand over CHain of Office to Donna<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2013\/04\/Chris-Handing-Over2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1104\" src=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2013\/04\/Chris-Handing-Over2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the 15th AGM on Wednesday 10th April 2013, Chris Corless reflected on her year as President recalling many of the Clubs successes, particularly with Programme Action, Membership and Fundraising.\u00a0 At the Beginning of Chris&#8217;s year the club reviewed its Programme Action Programme to ensure profjects complied with the aims of aducating, empowering and enabling.\u00a0 The result was the submission of 21 Programme Action Forms outlining the service we had provided, either in time given or financial support to our various projects.\u00a0Membership also increased with no fewer than 9 new members joining the club in 2012-2013.\u00a0 In addition, fundraising, whilst not the main aim of Soroptimism, generated over \u00a37,600 and this enabled us to provide even more financial support to our projects.\u00a0The main focus of Chris&#8217;s year was to organise a Skirting Science day to educate, enable and empower girls. raise their awareness of\u00a0and change their attitude to Science and Engineering as career choices.\u00a0 It was an ambitious project but was achieved!\u00a0 Everybody involved enjoyed it, the feedback was excellent and the intention is to continue with this in the coming year and attracteven more schools second time round.\u00a0It was then time for &#8216;off with the old Chains of Office and on with the new&#8217; as Chris handed over the President&#8217;s Chain of Office to President Elect Donna Cope, who will take over as President of the Club for 2013-2014.\u00a0 Donna then handed over her President Elect Chain of Office to Lesley Warfield.\u00a0 Lesley has been a member of the club for 11 years and was President in 2009-2011.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1112\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1112\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2013\/04\/Pres-Pres-Elect4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1112\" src=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2013\/04\/Pres-Pres-Elect4-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1112\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">President Donna &amp; President Elect Lesley<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the 15th AGM on Wednesday 10th April 2013, Chris Corless reflected on her year&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":438,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[14],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1099","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-archive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>New President starts her Year | News | Blog | Events | SI Lichfield and District<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"SI Lichfield and District : Blog &amp; News : New President starts her Year : Keep up to date with the latest news, articles and events from the Soroptimists of SI Lichfield and District .
