At a Business meeting hosted by SI Cannock & District, Lichfield Club were asked if they would like to enter a Scarecrow in St Luke\u2019s Church Fete on Saturday 13 July 2013.\u00a0\u00a0 The Scarecrow Festival was an opportunity to promote clubs or organisations to the local community, so not wishing to pass up a challenge we agreed to take part. The theme was Nursery Rhyme Characters so we decided to enter \u2018Little Bo Peep\u2019 dressed in Soroptimist Blue and Yellow, complete with crook and lost sheep!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cannock SI chose \u2018Incy Wincy Spider\u2019 complete with downpipe and rain to flush him out.\u00a0\u00a0 There were 27 exhibits in all, from schools, clubs, charities and business organisations.<\/p>\n

The Fete was well attended and the sunshine we had enjoyed the previous week at the Lichfield Festival continued. So much so, visitors were keen to enjoy the shade of St Luke\u2019s Church where a huge model railway was on show, much to the delight of the children, not to mention adult enthusiasts.\u00a0 It was almost like exhibiting at the Chelsea Flower Show when we realised our entry had received a Gold Award.\u00a0 The problem\u00a0is what to do with her now \u2013 any ideas!!<\/p>\n
