Well, the Attwoods had word that this might well be the last Pancake Race Event in Lichfield, so we went to watch.\u00a0 Crowds were large, a lovely atmosphere, The Mayor led the proceedings (but didn’t race)\u00a0 and all was well.\u00a0 We bumped into fellow Soroptimists Valmai and Kate who had chanced upon the event.\u00a0 Chaplin was intrigued by the whole thing as were the Italians who seemed to be out in force and believed that somehow winning was the important aspect of all this!\u00a0 I heard of some Stourbridgians chancing on a black pudding festival in France and they found that equally bizarre!\u00a0 Long live the traditions!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
