 \" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2148\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dishi and Ellie!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2015\/12\/1-IMG_0341.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2154\" src=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2015\/12\/1-IMG_0341.jpg\" alt=\"1-IMG_0341\" width=\"320\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2015\/12\/1-IMG_0341.jpg 320w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2015\/12\/1-IMG_0341-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our thanks to Bev who drove and navigated (with Liz)\u00a0the Birmingham road works to get us to Executive Room 1 at the Symphony Hall at the appointed time for the cheque presentation.\u00a0 The cheque was presented to Major Peter Forest who was accompanied by his wife Major Julie Forest. \u00a0They both spoke warmly of the annual donation that Soroptimists of Lichfield and District have been making to them.\u00a0 They spoke of the Domestic Violence provision that provides accommodation and dignity to women and children fleeing from violence.\u00a0 Our donation goes directly to this provision in line with the aims and objectives of Soroptimism.<\/p>\n<p>At the close of the concert, President Pat, Bev,\u00a0Chris, Dishi, Liz, Margaret and Judith, a friend of Mary\u2019s from Birmingham \u00a0club were presented to the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the County, David Bradnock.\u00a0 He knew our wider organisation very well and was able to speak about the work that Soroptimists do.\u00a0 He congratulated and thanked us for supporting the Salvation Army, commenting on the &#8216;service&#8217; elements of the two organisations.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of the\u00a0performance Lichfield Soroptimists were publicly acknowledged by the host of the evening!\u00a0 The performances\u00a0included school choirs, the Senior Salvation Band and choirs, an African Praise Choir and a wonderful nativity play provided by very young children.\u00a0 This last captured us all and for\u00a0President Pat\u00a0set the scene for Christmas.\u00a0 For me, the camels fashioned from the bikes of the children who were kings was a particular highlight as was the smaller angel who refused to uncross her arms!!<\/p>\n<p>A spectacular evening that left those of us that attended with a very &#8216;warm glow&#8217;.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2149\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2149\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2015\/12\/2-IMG_0333.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-2149\" src=\"\/lichfield\/files\/2015\/12\/2-IMG_0333-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Soroptimister David \" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2149\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Soroptimister David<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Our thanks to Bev who drove and navigated (with Liz)\u00a0the Birmingham road works to&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":561,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[14],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2144","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-archive"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Salvation Army Concert and Cheque Presentation \u00a3813.41 confirmed!
