John May, (MBE), a representative from <a href=\"http:\/\/lichfieldtalkingnews.co.uk\/\">Talking Newspaper<\/a>, explained how five new people require the services of Talking Newspaper every week in the Lichfield District alone.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2020\/05\/IMG_1137-e1589216423277.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4964 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2020\/05\/IMG_1137-e1589216423277-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Club member Angela presenting Keith Eagland with a cheque for \u00a3855 raised at our fish and chip quiz supper held on behalf of Talking Newspapers for the Blind\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2020\/05\/IMG_1137-e1589216423277-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2020\/05\/IMG_1137-e1589216423277-450x600.jpg 450w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2020\/05\/IMG_1137-e1589216423277.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>The organisation relies on charitable donations and the efforts of volunteers to maintain this service. Angela Reynolds, founder President of SI Lichfield and District, organised the event and hosted the event as \u2018Quiz Master Extraordinaire\u2019, ably assisted by Ellie Gormley with the \u2018Scores on the Wall\u2019. Over 100 local people pitted their intellectual wits in teams of 4, tackling varied general knowledge subjects including: Sport, Food, Current Affairs, Natural World, Royal Family and Music.<\/p>\n<p>In total \u00a3855 was raised on behalf of the charity.
