Outgoing Club President Jenny McLelland looks back over a VERY different year in the Soroptimist calendar. We’ve all lived in “interesting times” that’s for sure, and despite that, some huge positives and achievements have come about…<\/p>\n

\"Photo<\/a>My plan what did I want to achieve?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2981 We stand up for women and do not judge! Why?
\n\u2981 Create a space for creativity and innovation \u2013 Marketing and Communication
\n\u2981 Show that we could achieve so much more doing things differently
\n\u2981 Be seen and be heard
\n\u2981 Lead the way and show how we can work together (work and play)<\/p>\n

What is important to me?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2981 To make a difference to the lives of women and girls
\n\u2981 To make my club proud
\n\u2981 To be aware of the hearts and the teardrop feedback
\n\u2981 To continue to put SI on the map locally, regionally, nationally and globally<\/p>\n

What did we achieve?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2981 A new focus on our people \u2013 at the centre of everything we do!
\n\u2981 A strategic oversight of Programme Action and the subgroups
\n\u2981 A more structures way of delivering action!
\n\u2981 A club I am proud of
\n\u2981 Kept going\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.
\n\u2981 Launched a new Marketing and Communication Group
\n\u2981 Visited Advocacy and starting to understand and be more focused
\n\u2981 Hit the ground running virtually and wow did we learn!
\n\u2981 AGM, Charter, Quiz all online
\n\u2981 Guest speakers continued to share and inspire
\n\u2981 Presented a DA conference shared globally!<\/p>\n

What learning I will take away and on reflection what I would do differently?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2981 My world did not stop, it got faster and faster and there was no slowing down! When did I find time for me?
\n\u2981 Many of us struggled at some time during 2020\/21 \u2013 its ok!
\n\u2981 There is always a new way of doing things \u2013 listen to new members it\u2019s the key to success!
\n\u2981 Don\u2019t try and rush new members to join on zoom \u2013 wait and take time it\u2019s overwhelming to just listen and not ask<\/p>\n

\u2981 The Charter 2020
\n\u2981 The Domestic Abuse Conference and the achievements
\n\u2981 The success of the Marketing and Communication Group
\n\u2981 Strategic direction for 2021<\/p>\n

My final message?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2981 Have courage, be kind and forgive! (Cinderella)\u2026\u2026.and good friends help you find important things when you have lost them\u2026 things like your smile, your hope and your courage\u2026\u2026..
\n\u2981 It\u2019s been a great year for women and at the very end of my year Rachel Blackmore jumped yet another massive hurdle! In our 100 years of Soroptimism!
\n\u2981 Actions speak louder than words! \u201cLet your actions do the talking\u201d
\n\u2981 Soroptimists of Lichfield and District be proud of what you do!
\n\u2981 Thank you to My Executive Team, The Subgroup leads and most of all the members! TEAM \u201cTogether We Achieve More\u201d 2020\/2021 showed that and I am sure it will continue for President Marisha!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
