As part of our celebrations of the Centenary Anniversary of SIGBI, we&#8217;ve been doing lots of &#8220;good things involving 100.&#8221; These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>making 100 jumpers for children in Africa<\/li>\n<li>collectively losing (more than) 100 lbs in weight &#8211; largely gained over lockdown<\/li>\n<li>making 100 dresses for girls in Africa<\/li>\n<li>cycling 100 miles on the exercise bike<\/li>\n<li>creating 100 homes for nature in our gardens and local green spaces<\/li>\n<li>gathering 100 inspirational quotes from great women<\/li>\n<li>planting 100+ trees and bulbs for the Centenary Tree appeal<\/li>\n<li>donating 100+ items to Lichfield Food Bank<\/li>\n<li>making 100 Days for Girls Packs (reusable sanpro)<\/li>\n<li>walking 100 miles (between us)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5881\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5881\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2021\/12\/BCWA-packing.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5881 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2021\/12\/BCWA-packing-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Club elves have been busy!\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2021\/12\/BCWA-packing-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2021\/12\/BCWA-packing.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5881\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">L-R: Elves Mary, Pauline, Angela, Kerry &amp; Hazel with some of the fruits of their labour!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>and last but not least, <strong>putting together and gifting &#8220;pamper bags&#8221;<\/strong> for women using the services of our local refuges and modern slavery support providers in Lichfield and Staffordshire\/The Black Country more widely.\u00a0 We collected more than 600 items over a period of 8 weeks then met to make them into quality gifts.<\/p>\n<p>Club members donated goods and money to enable our <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/our-work\/domestic-abuse\/\">Domestic Abuse sub group<\/a> to make up pretty, seasonal gifts, all carrying a message from us to show that the recipients are &#8220;not alone,&#8221; and that women they don&#8217;t even know are holding them in their thoughts &#8211; always &#8211; and not just at Christmas time.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5878\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5878\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2021\/12\/Image.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5878 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2021\/12\/Image-300x225.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2021\/12\/Image-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/lichfield\/files\/2021\/12\/Image.jpeg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5878\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Katie Newell (L) of BCWA with Pauline &amp; Angela in the garden centre car park!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The gifts have been very well received. Katie Newell (pictured right with Pauline and Angela &#8211; Kerry&#8217;s behind the lens) of <a href=\"https:\/\/blackcountrywomensaid.co.uk\">Black Country Women&#8217;s Aid<\/a> commented: &#8220;T<span dir=\"ltr\">hank you so much ladies! <\/span>It was a pleasure to meet you all &amp; your gifts were so lovely. I can confirm most are on their way to the ladies in Modern Day Slavery support who will be overwhelmed with the contents of the bags.&#8221; In addition to the gifts we also donated supplies of larger items such as shampoo and bubble bath for BCWA to keep in stock.
