Federation Programme Action Committee meeting

The FPAC Forum 2018 took place prior to the Liverpool 2018 conference, on Thursday 25 October 2018 at 9.00am. There were representatives from nearly all of the 29 countries that make up Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI), plus lots of silent observers who wanted to absorb everything that was being said to report back to their Regions and Countries.

The session started with a roll call, so that everyone was aware who was there to represent their country as part of this meeting. The minutes of the last FPAC meeting were then agreed and there were no matters arising.

The reports from the Assistant Programme Directors and Friendship Link Coordinator had already been circulated to delegates, so it was a formality to accept them without amendment.

Soroptimist Alphabet

At 9.30, Programme Director Barbara Dixon presented the Soroptimist Alphabet, leading from the past 3A’s (Awareness, Advocacy and Action) through the current emphasis on the 3E’s (Educate, Empower, Enable) to the future UN vision of the 5Ps (People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, Partnerships), which will contribute towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It was explained how the work of Soroptimists can connect to the 5P’s.
