In 2013 they decided to build a library in the area, as most libraries had been destroyed during the civil war. SI Thames Valley fundraised tirelessly to enable the library to be built. The library was opened in 2016 and stocked with books and furniture, also provided by SI Thames Valley.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-930\" src=\"\/liverpool2018\/files\/SI-Thames-Valley-soap-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/liverpool2018\/files\/SI-Thames-Valley-soap-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/liverpool2018\/files\/SI-Thames-Valley-soap-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/liverpool2018\/files\/SI-Thames-Valley-soap.jpg 350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Now the running of the library needs to be considered, and in order to make this project sustainable, the women in the area are being taught to make soap and sew to raise money to support themselves and their families, and also contribute to the running of the library. A piggery has also been built and is now full of thriving pigs.<\/p>\n<p>A room, to be known as &#8220;Rose&#8217;s Room&#8221;\u00a0in honour of the charity\u2019s founder Rose Simbo, is to be built behind this library in which the local women can be taught to sew to enable them to have a potential income.
