[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We have a monthly coffee meeting at Providero Coffee Shop in Llandudno which is well attended by members and friends. It is a good opportunity to invite anyone who has expressed and interest in Soroptimists to have an informal chat. We have had several enquiries recently about our club from interested ladies so we are really hoping to boost our membership if some of them decide to join.<\/p>\n

We were honoured to have an invitation for President Janet to attend the Remembrance Sunday service at Holy Trinity Church in Llandudno. Janet and three other members then joined the parade to the Cenotaph and laid a wreath on behalf of the club.<\/p>\n

Three volunteers- Linda, Dave and Paul came to speak to us from Blood Bikes Wales; they are based at the Bangor branch. Linda is a controller and Dave and Paul ride the bikes carrying medical products. The organisation is ran wholly by volunteers and they work supporting the NHS by transporting samples, blood, human milk for premature babies and other items between hospitals, doctors’ surgeries, nursing homes and hospices. They have been incredibly busy during the pandemic helping transporting Covid test samples.<\/p>\n

Six members of our club joined Police, the Modern Day Slavery Caseworker for Victim Support, and volunteers from Haven of Light on a visit to hotels and hospitality venues in Llandudno to offer information and support around the risks of human trafficking, sexual exploitation, grooming and other abuses. They passed on information for staff to enable them to identify any concerns or signs of abuse or exploitation including: how to spot the signs of potential abuse by guests, who to report concerns to within the hotel and what to do about these concerns as a business. They will also be offering further training sessions for all staff.<\/p>\n
