**International Women’s Day Centenary of Votes for Women – What Have We Achieved? Sun March 11 Maidenhead
Soroptimist International of Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead, Thames Valley and High Wycombe and District Clubs are hosting an event to mark International Women’s Day and the centenary of votes for (some) women in the UK.

Sunday 11th March 2018, 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. in the Desborough Suite, Maidenhead Town Hall, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, SL6 1RF
Theme: “What Have We Achieved?”
- Irene Cockroft, Writer/lecturer and expert on women’s suffrage (Irene is pictured here and more information about Irene is available here www.sigbi.org/london-chilterns/iwd2018/ )
- Sarbjit Athwal, Founder of the charity True Honour, dealing with honour-based violence
- Dr Rowan Hillson MBE, former National Clinical Director for Diabetes – on women’s achievements in Medicine
- Liz Beckmann, an Electrical and Electronics Engineer – on women’s achievements in Engineering
