\"SI<\/a>St Albans & District Soroptimists Oranged the world (well Hertfordshire anyway!).<\/strong><\/p>\n

SI London Chilterns Region is very proud that the photo montage produced by the St Albans & District Soroptimist Club won the SIGBI Photo of the month competition for January 2022.<\/p>\n

Building on their success in 2020 when they \u2018Oranged\u2019 the beautiful St Albans Museum, (see photos and read more about it here<\/strong><\/a>) this year the Club set out to \u2018Orange\u2019 Hertfordshire as part of the United Nations Orange the World Campaign<\/strong>\u00a0and the 16 days of activism to end gender based violence from 25 Nov to 16 Dec\u00a016 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence<\/a><\/strong>.<\/div>\n

They wrote to significant buildings, councillors, businesses and senior schools, seeking support\u2026..and got it!.<\/div>\n
\"St<\/a>The Museum were once again delighted to support the Club and this year laid on a \u2018lighting up\u2019 tea in the Courtroom which enabled the Club to invite supporters and Club members to join us for a professional photo-shoot. \"St<\/a><\/div>\n

Herts County Council, through Deputy Chair of the Council, Annie Brewster, gave the Club another photo opportunity, lighting up County Hall.<\/div>\n

The\u00a0\u00a0St Albans and Hertsmere Women\u2019s Refuge<\/a><\/div>\n
were able to use the campaign in some sessions with clients and children staying at\u00a0\"SISTA<\/a>the Refuge to explore why ending violence against women is so important.<\/div>\n

The Club had so many great photos that they were able to produce a video – see the link above. The Club was delighted at the level of support and are already developing plans for OTW 2022.<\/div>\n

\"OTW16<\/a><\/strong>Between 25 November \u2013 10 December 2021, buildings all over Hertfordshire lit up\u00a0Orange<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>raising awareness of\u00a016 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence<\/a><\/strong>. It is a call to action and to raise awareness at a local, national, and international level about violence against women and girls.<\/p>\n
