On Monday 13 November President Rosemary welcomed everyone to the annual local heat of the Soroptimist International Public Speaking competition. She welcomed the judges – Norma Menabney, Jacqui McLaughlin and Esther Weir who is a club member, and gave a brief background on each of them. 19 competitors, from Armagh, Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown, took part which is a record number for the club and they covered many of the topics available.

Our winners were:

2nd – Lily McClatchey, Portadown College – Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without
3rd – Emily Monroe, Portadown College – Immigration – how open should our doors be?
