Club Committee Updates
We have 3 committees;
- Programme Action which is the heart of the club,
- Membership and Friends of the club
- Social and Fundraising
The Chairs of each provide an update on the work of the committee.
Membership committee update
There are 2 club almoners; these roles are taken on by the Immediate Past President and a new club member. These 2 key roles support all members and offer help with any health, welfare or other issues during any difficult times.
A Buddy is offered to any new member to help her as she gets to meet club members and in understanding the work of the club and committee. A Buddy will be the main contact and support as the new member wishes to help her settle into the life of the club and be comfortable in taking an active part in meetings and social events.
Programme Action committee
Currently the club members are working on the Pocket Project to raise funds to ensure that girls in this country and around the world get the sanitary items they need so they can go to school and continue their education.
Club members were involved with the Dignity Challenge (2013)– visiting Maidstone Hospital, contributing to quality monitoring via the Patient Experience Committee.
Members had a meeting with Anne Barnes the police commissioner. We held an anti Trafficking event in November with SI Gravesend.
We collected jewellery in support of the Regional initiative; the BIG (supporting a midwife lead birthing unit in the Gambia) project.
Membership committee update – July 2013
We value our members and work hard to recruit and retain members. During the autumn we will be looking at how we can recruit new members and add value for our existing members. Ideas are welcomed.
