On the evening of Friday 13th June, Si Malta held our annual BBQ in the wonderful grounds of Villa Tarxien, courtesy of Janatha Stubbs. It was a balmy night and the courtyard was filled with the sounds of animated conversation and laughter, helped along no doubt by the very palatable wine served!
The calm before the storm
Marc Besacon worked his usual magic with the meats. The salads prepared by the members were also very well received. The scouts did sterling duty stewarding the tables and generally helping out.
The raffle was interesting. Many good prizes had been donated, and attendees dug deep into their pockets to support our event. The guests were divided between the front and back courtyards and Janatha and Sla did a great job racing through the archway between the two to convey the numbers to those who could not see the draw.
A big “thank you” to all who contributed and to our guests who supported us so well. The event was sold out with a maximum capacity of 140.
Funds raised from the BBQ will be split equally between Inspire, the Transplant Foundation, and our own local projects.
As soon as figures are available, I will add them to this posting.
