#BringBackOurGirls

On Friday 30th May at 3.45pm members of SI Malta and supporters took part in a symbolic walk from the Parliament Building in St George’s Square to Castille, to present an appeal to Dr Joseph Muscat PM, in support of the 200+ girls abducted by Boko Haram in Nigeria. Click on this link to read the article which appeared in the Times of Malta prior to the walk.

From the News Page of the SIGBI Website:

Outside The Office of the Prime Minister

Members of SI Malta, along with SIGBI Vice-President, Margaret Emsley, met with H.E. The President of Malta, Mrs Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, who signed a petition urging the Maltese Government to put more pressure on the Nigerian Government to secure the release of the abducted school girls. There was then an opportunity for members of the public to sign the petition before they, accompanied by members from other NGOs, including the Girl Guides, took part in a symbolic walk carrying banners requesting the girls’ release. The walk ended at the office of the Prime Minister, Dr. Joseph Muscat, where he received the petition.
