Margaret Emsley, the Vice-President of SIGBI visited Malta on holiday in May, and met members of SI Malta.

Margaret Emsley, VP SIGBI

During her stay she accompanied our members on the walk in support of #BringBackOurGirls from the Presidential Palace in Valletta to the Prime Minister’s office in Castille. The President, HE Marie Louise Coleiro Preca welcomed Margaret and SIM members to the palace and spent some time discussing the issues of the stolen schoolgirls and the work of Soroptimists in general.

The walk proceeded to Castille where a petition was handed to Dr Joseph Muscat by our president, Marion Cilia.

Margaret’s visit also included a lunch for SI Malta members at Villa Tarxien, the home of Mrs Janatha Stubbs, where three new members were inducted into the organisation with a moving candle ceremony.

Margaret reported our walk in support of the kidnapped schoolgirls on the news section of the SIGBI site, for which we are very grateful. We wish her well in her future enterprises in SIGBI.
