\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This international campaign<\/a> against gender-based violence started in 1991 and is run annually from November 25th\u00a0 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10th\u00a0 (International Human Rights Day).<\/p>\n

Many of our ongoing projects support women and girls who have suffered or at risk. During this year\u2019s 16 days we will be helping Manchester Women\u2019s Aid<\/a> and The River Manchester<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition, we will plant a tree in Alexandra Park<\/a> \u2013 a small contribution to help combat climate change. According to the United Nations an estimated 80% of those adversely affected by climate change are women and girls.<\/p>\n

This year’s theme is End Online Violence Against All Women and Girls\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Day 7 \u2013 Use Blocking and Filtering Tools<\/p>\n

Day 8 – Report Abuse or Harassment<\/p>\n

Day 9 – Update Privacy Settings<\/p>\n

Day 10 – Digital Platforms Have Responsibility<\/p>\n

Day 11 – Spreading Awareness and Supporting Others<\/p>\n

Day 12 – Everyone Can Speak Up<\/p>\n

Day 13 – We All Have the Power<\/p>\n

Day 14 – Stronger Laws Mean Safer Online Spaces<\/p>\n

Day 15 – Clear, Modern Laws<\/p>\n

Day 16 – Everyone Deserves to Feel Safe and Heard Online<\/p>\n

Soroptimists across the UK and Ireland have been awarded the NAWO 16 Days of Activism Award<\/strong>, presented at a ceremony held at the House of Lords on 10 December 2025. This award recognises Soroptimists\u2019 \u2018outstanding contributions to stopping gender-based violence\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n
