Wentworth Woodhouse is a Grade 1 listed country house in the village of Wentworth, South Yorkshire. With an east front of 185 meters (606 ft.), this impressive mansion is reputed to have the longest country house façade in Europe. The history of Wentworth Woodhouse, as well as the village of Wentworth, is inextricably linked with the history of the great aristocratic families – the Wentworth’s, Watsons and Fitzwilliam’s – who presided over it for generations. Wentworth Woodhouse is now open to the public with guided tours, 82-acre garden and a host of events running throughout the year. The house was bought by the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust. The Trust is embarking on a major project to restore the house and whilst this continues, part of the Wentworth Woodhouse will be continued to be open to the public. Everyone is welcome to join us.
