It is recognised by the United Nations (UN) as an International Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) and is represented at the UN centres in Europe and America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Members give their time and skills to serve their local communities and the community of the world through projects with particular focus on improving the quality of life for women and girls.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Mansfield and District club members are active, striving to have fun, friendships and, food whist raising awareness to achieve our aims and objectives.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">For all Women and Girls: Rights. Equality, Empowerment<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">New members and supporters are always welcome<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month except for August.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The supper meetings often host a guest speaker which usually takes place at The Watermill, Coxmoor Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, NG17 4NE on the 1st Tuesday evening of each month.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The club business meetings and AGM also take place at The Watermill, on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">We start our meetings at 7:30 p.m. and aim to finish by 9:30 p.m.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">We have been using Zoom to conduct some of our meetings, especially during the dark nights of winter.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Anyone wanting to join the Soroptimists \u2013 we are a group of women supporting other women and girls globally and in the UK through positive actions. We acknowledge commitment of time, effort and enthusiasm; however, you will have fulfilment, friendship and fun through your journey with us.
