Kam Britland <\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

THE president of Soroptimist International<\/span>
\nMansfield and District completed her successful<\/span>
\nyear in office as the club welcomed her<\/span>
\nsuccessor and a new member at the annual<\/span>
\nmeeting. <\/span>Kam Britland relinquished her presidential<\/span>
\nrole after an eventful year.\u00a0 <\/span>At the AGM, Kam welcomed new member<\/span>
\nKath Whittingham, the former head of<\/span>
\ndemocratic service of a local authority, and new<\/span>
\npresident Sue Manchester.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the initiatives during Kam\u2019s year in<\/span>
\noffice were:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Raising more than \u00a32,000 for mental health<\/span>
    \nand Mercy Malaysia charities.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Hosting the March Regional Meeting and<\/span>
    \nreceiving positive comments.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Bringing new members to the club.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Participating at a service to mark the<\/span>
    \ncentenary of the end of the first world war,<\/span>
    \nlaying a wreath at the Mansfield Civic<\/span>
    \nCenotaph on Remembrance Sunday.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Buying an official roof slate with the<\/span>
    \nclub\u2019s name inscribed after a summer trip<\/span>
    \nto Wentworth Woodhouse to help with the<\/span>
    \npreservation of the grand house in South<\/span>
    \nYorkshire.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Kam continued to support and<\/span>
    \nundertake some of our planned initiatives.<\/span>
    \nWhat a triumph! The success exceeded<\/span>
    \nher expectations, despite her personal<\/span>
    \ncircumstances.\u00a0 \u00a0She said afterwards “I am truly grateful for<\/span>
    \nthe support and friendships throughout.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
