Becoming a Soroptimist, means joining an all Female Organisation,<\/span><\/p>\n

Soroptimist International, consists of FIVE Federations:<\/span><\/p>\n

  2. Soroptimist International of the Americas<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Soroptimist International of Europe<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Soroptimist International of the South East Asia Pacific<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    A Global volunteer movement in 112 Countries of the World, with 72,000 members. We work together at local, national and international level to Educate, Empower and Enable opportunities for women and girls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    S.I. Mansfield & District club is one of 3 in Nottinghamshire, the other 2 are S.I. Dukeries and S.I. Nottingham, and we are part of the Midlands East Region – currently has 12 clubs in this Region. We are in the Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland Federation (SIGBI).<\/span><\/p>\n

    SI Mansfield currently consists of 21 active members, who live in areas such as:-<\/span><\/p>\n

    Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Forest Town, Sutton and Kirkby in Ashfield, Rainworth, Ravenshead, Radmanthwaite, Sherwood, Sookholme, Farnsfield, Edwinstowe, New Houghton, Warsop and Church Warsop.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Our meetings are on the 1st and 3rd. Tuesdays at 7.30pm, held at the Watermill, Coxmoor Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, NG17 4NE.\u00a0 There are 10 Club Meetings and 10 Dinner Meetings per year, with a summer break in August.<\/span><\/p>\n

    If you would like to attend one or two meetings, and find out more about us, you should complete the online contact form and we will arrange for you to be contacted. \u00a0Please be assured of a warm welcome, we are all from diverse backgrounds, with a wealth of skill and experience, and a will to be of service to others.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Why would we join an Organisation like this?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Members are lively, energetic, and committed to improving the lives and futures of Women and Girls throughout the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

    We campaign, we lobby, we implement, we support, and we care about the injustices that some Women the World over have to endure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    We have Representation, and Special Consultative Status, at the United Nations, so we are a Global Voice for Women and Girls, through Awareness, Advocacy and Action.<\/span><\/p>\n

    We strive for Human Rights for all, Equality, Development and Peace, International goodwill, understanding and friendship.<\/span><\/p>\n

    To be a Soroptimist, a pre-requisite is the spirit of compassion, and a belief that, no matter how small, or how slowly, change occurs, it is a positive sign, and reinforces our actions.<\/span><\/p>\n
