Limuru is in Kenya, Africa where there is an agricultural college, \u00a0Mansfield & District\u00a0SI supports one female student each year at this college, and\u00a0this gives them\u00a0 skills for life\u00a0 As a result they have a means of earning a living for themselves and their families<\/p>\n
Some 30 miles west of Nairobi, Kenya, lies the town of Limuru. Limuru was once the site of a shoe factory that employed some 8,000. Now the factory has drastically reduced its operations, and Limuru has high unemployment and homelessness. It is home to tea plantations and has many slums.\u00a0 The HIV\/AIDS pandemic has orphaned thousands of children, many of whom\u00a0 live on the streets, where they are often involved in theft, drug trafficking and prostitution.<\/p>\n
