{"id":5789,"date":"2022-02-22T23:14:45","date_gmt":"2022-02-22T23:14:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/?p=5789"},"modified":"2022-02-28T23:20:30","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T23:20:30","slug":"presentation-of-brave-books-to-byron","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/2022\/02\/22\/presentation-of-brave-books-to-byron\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation of Brave Books to Byron"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 22 February, Lillian Gould and Jane Barnes were able to finally present the copies of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jointhebravebear.org\/\">Brave Book<\/a>.\u00a0 <!--more--><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2022\/02\/Brave-Book-presentation-square.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5790 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2022\/02\/Brave-Book-presentation-square.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"329\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2022\/02\/Brave-Book-presentation-square.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2022\/02\/Brave-Book-presentation-square-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2022\/02\/Brave-Book-presentation-square-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 329px) 100vw, 329px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Soroptimists were donating these books to Jon Carthy, Headteacher at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.byron.medway.sch.uk\/\">Byron Primary School<\/a> in Gillingham. The presentation was delayed due to incidents of covid in the school and staff shortages as a result.<\/p>\n<p>Jon Carthy was pleased to receive the Brave books.\u00a0 The Brave book is about freedom and friendship and raising awareness to keep children safe from exploitation.
