{"id":6790,"date":"2024-12-23T11:05:24","date_gmt":"2024-12-23T11:05:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/?p=6790"},"modified":"2025-01-09T11:30:01","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T11:30:01","slug":"what-was-the-theme-for-the-soroptimist-christmas-tree-at-tree-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/2024\/12\/23\/what-was-the-theme-for-the-soroptimist-christmas-tree-at-tree-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"What was the theme for the Soroptimist Christmas Tree at Tree Festival?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Medway and Maidstone Soroptimists are taking part in the Christmas tree Festival at St Margaret\u2019s Church, Rainham. <!--more-->It runs from 29 November through to the beginning of January.<\/p>\n<p>As it is the 16 Days of Activism (25 November \u2013 10 December) we have chosen an orange theme, and decorated the tree with \u2018Soroptimists Say NO to Violence against Women\u2019 badges and baubles to raise awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Jane and Stella Barnes went along to set up the tree with orange baubles kindly donated by member Jill Squires and the new SIGBI Safety cards prepared by Liz Duckworth.<\/p>\n<p>We received this message from the organiser,<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;Thank you for taking part in our 2024 Christmas Tree Festival. The Church looked beautiful for the Festival and over the Christmas period. We had over 500 people visit the festival and others have continued to enjoy the trees as they attend St. Margaret&#8217;s Church for different Christmas activities.
