It was an opportunity to reflect on the past year and all that had been achieved through the efforts of members.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2026\/04\/Roxanne.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7180 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2026\/04\/Roxanne.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"271\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2026\/04\/Roxanne.jpg 811w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2026\/04\/Roxanne-238x300.jpg 238w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 271px) 100vw, 271px\" \/><\/a>Roxanne as our speaker spoke about the work we hope to do as a Region on the Rail Safety project with Adam Downing from South Eastern Rail. In addition to working with Sarah Jacoby (CEO) from Comfort Cases UK to help by sewing bags for toiletries and knitting \u2018Barry the Sloth\u2019 cuddly toys to go in rucksacks provided to each child going into care. Medway and Maidstone members will be taking part in both projects.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2026\/04\/Roxanne-and-Carol-McK-certificate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-7179 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2026\/04\/Roxanne-and-Carol-McK-certificate.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"347\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2026\/04\/Roxanne-and-Carol-McK-certificate.jpg 640w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/medway-maidstone\/files\/2026\/04\/Roxanne-and-Carol-McK-certificate-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 347px) 100vw, 347px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Roxanne also presented Carol McKeough with her 25 year long service certificate. Carol is our club Safeguarding lead and has played an active role previously at Region as the Safeguarding Officer and on the SIGBI Safeguarding Network reviewing policies. Carol supports Amnesty International and also hosts an annual Summer BBQ and Christmas Soup Kitchen in her home as fundraisers.<\/p>\n<p>Another long-term member, Nellie Adjaye gave a short talk about her life coming to the UK from Ghana and becoming a doctor specializing in Paediatrics.
