SIGBI donates £2,000 to Save the Children for Yemen Crisis

The war in Yemen has resulted in a humanitarian crisis where children are paying the heaviest price.  Faced with bombs, disease, hunger and lack of clean water, the country is on the brink of its worst famine in 100 years.

Save the Children are working on the ground treating sick and injured children in over 188 health centres, 21 hospitals and 3 mobile health and nutrition teams.  Malnutrition, cholera and diphtheria are epidemic.

The provision of safe drinking water and hygiene items are essential to prevent the spread of illness and disease further.

At least one child dies every 10 minutes in Yemen from malnutrition and preventable diseases.

SIGBI has made a donation of £2,000 from the Emergency Relief Fund.
