TIP FOR WEBSITE EDITORS TO AVOID GETTING BLOCKED – We have received several emails recently from Club Website Editors who have been blocked from accessing their dashboards. This happens when you enter the incorrect password for your website too many times, and is a feature of WordFence, which is a security plugin. Please read the advice below on avoiding this situation, and what to do if you do find that you have been blocked:

CLUB WEBINARS – We have heard about a number of interesting webinars that Clubs have held in recent months, with guest speakers who are experts in their field. We don’t have room to include all these invitations in the SIGBI News Briefings, but we do have a page on the website that can be used to promote these, and a link to this page included in the SIGBI News Briefing when we have added a new event. Therefore, if your Club is hosting a webinar on a programme-related activity, do let us know the date, time, title of the webinar, a paragraph about it and how people register. NOTE: please state times in GMT. A link to a time converter has been included on the page so that you can convert to your local time.
We will include details of your event on the Grants of Friendship and other invitations page and let members know it is there. Email firstname.lastname@example.org:

HOUSE OF LORDS RECEPTION 14 JULY 2021– This item is included in the SIGBI News Briefing, but is repeated here to make sure Club Executives are aware. Note that, owing to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it has been necessary to change the date of the House of Lords Reception to 14 July 2021. (it was previously 12 May 2021). The reception will be a light “bowl-food” networking lunch for 200 people with a glass of champagne for the toast. Tickets will be £65/head. If you are interested in attending, then please put the date in your diary, and we will be asking for expressions of interest in February 2021. If we are oversubscribed then there will be a draw to select the successful applicants. More information is on the Centenary Website.
