Awards – Club Experiences

You have to be in it to win it!

Entering (and hopefully winning) local awards is a great way for your club to raise awareness.

Over the past two years SI St Albans have entered and won:

  • The St Albans City Mayor’s Pride Awards 2019 in the Voluntary Sector and
  • The SME Hertfordshire Business Awards 2018 in the Not for Profit Business of the Year Category.

Many award submissions are completed online but SI St Albans have saved the questions and answers and these are shared below:

Hopefully these forms will show you the questions often asked in award submissions and the kind of answers judges are looking for.

How to find your local awards?

It is really easy to find awards in your area. All SI St Albans did was put “St Albans Awards” into Google and then looked further into each one. You can plan ahead for the next 12 months and make a note of submission deadlines.

Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

All Clubs could enter the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. SI Bournemouth won this last year for their STEM Challenge.

Find out more about the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. It would be great to see more Soroptimist Clubs winning this.
