SIGBI Policies and Protocols

SIGBI Data Protection Policies and Notices

New General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into effect on 25 May 2018.  In line with this, SIGBI has produced documentation covering why we collect certain information about our Members and how it is stored and used.  Please read the documentation below.

Documentation has also been produced for Clubs to amend and use covering their collection of their Members’ details, which can be found on the Club Polices and Protocols page.

Safeguarding Policy and accompanying documentation

SIGBI has produced a Safeguarding Policy dated October 2018. This policy applies to members of Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) Limited or anyone working on behalf of SIGBI.

The purpose of this policy is to:

  • protect children, young people and vulnerable adults with whom members of SIGBI and anyone working on behalf of SIGBI may be involved.
  • provide members of SIGBI and anyone working on behalf of SIGBI with the overarching principles that guide our approach to safeguarding.

SIGBI believes that a child, young person or vulnerable adult should never experience abuse of any kind.  We have the responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults to keep them safe.  We are committed to practice in a way that protects them.
