SIGBI General Meeting

SIGBI holds a General Meeting once a year, as part of the SIGBI Conference.

All members are entitled to attend free of charge, and each Club can nominate a voting delegate to vote on the Resolutions on behalf of the Club.  If no member is attending from a Club, then they may ask a member from another Club to act as their proxy voter.

General Meeting 2018

Note: there will be a Programme Resolutions/SIGBI Project 2019-2022 session immediately before the General Meeting at 14:00, at which voting delegates will also be required to vote.  All the documentation for this session can be found under Programme on the Programme Resolutions 2018/SIGBI Project 2019-2022 page.

Additional Information about Resolution 1 – Amendment of SIGBI Byelaws

A number of questions have been received regarding Resolution 1 to the General Meeting 2018 (amendments to the SIGBI Byelaws), in particular Clause 14.1 which replaces:

The Federation President shall select two Members of the Board or such other number as the Constitution of SI requires, to serve with her on the SI Board”, with

The Board shall appoint two members of SIGBI, or other such number as the Constitution of SI requires, to serve on the SI Board”.

The intention of this amendment is to “open up” the application process to any member of SIGBI with the appropriate skills and expertise to act as an SI Board Director.  It is hoped that the attached Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) will aid members’ understanding of why the change has been proposed, the process to be adopted if the Resolution is carried and the timeframe for nominations.

If you have any questions which are not included in the FAQs please contact SIGBI HQ –

FAQs for Resolution 1:
