Safeguarding Policy and accompanying documentation

SIGBI has produced a Safeguarding Policy updated January 2021. This policy applies to members of Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) Limited or anyone working on behalf of SIGBI.

The purpose of this policy is to:

  • protect children, young people and vulnerable adults with whom members of SIGBI and anyone working on behalf of SIGBI may be involved.
  • provide members of SIGBI and anyone working on behalf of SIGBI with the overarching principles that guide our approach to safeguarding.

SIGBI believes that a child, young person or vulnerable adult should never experience abuse of any kind.  We have the responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults to keep them safe.  We are committed to practice in a way that protects them. Watch the short video for an overview of safeguarding.
